About Us
Our Story
The creation of this organization was two-fold. First, God’s answer to a simple prayer; what is my purpose in life? God’s directive was to feed his sheep; those who are physically hungry and need the compassion of strangers.
Second, after experiencing the sudden passing of Matt, our beloved 24-year-old family member in a tragic car accident, God took a devastating life-changing event and turned it into an opportunity to obey God’s call and at the same time honor Matt’s memory by showing unconditional love and acts of kindness by feeding the homeless in the community.

Improving Lives Since 2019
Love Lunches Incorporated, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization established in September 2019, assists those who are homeless in the Jacksonville and Saint Augustine Communities. Our mission is to provide healthy meals, personal care items, and compassion to those in need.
In 2021, we partnered with Dining with Dignity of Saint Augustine. Over 40 interfaith churches, community organizations, and civic groups share in this local ministry. The program is self-sustaining with each group responsible for preparing and serving meals to the homeless and others in the community. Our Love Lunches team and volunteers provide meals on the fourth Saturday of each month at 6 pm in Eddie Vickers Park.
Our community outreach extends beyond our monthly meal service at the park:
- We prepare and serves hot meals throughout the year for residents living in shelters.
- We provide meals, clothing, and other resources to families during the holiday season.
- We provide an annual scholarship to a Homeless High School Student enrolled in Saint Johns County Public Schools.
You can support our efforts by going to our Donate page or by visiting your local Vystar Credit Union to donate directly to our Love Lunches account.
